After much browsing around the local shelters, we finally decided on a new bundle of fuzz from Craigs list. We brought her home today. We haven't decided on a name yet but I'm sure she'll decide one for us soon enough. I've decided that she's going to be a very spoiled kitty if you can't tell already. She was very shy and wouldn't go further than a few inches from me when we first got home. After a while she was exploring all of her surroundings. It'll be interesting learning what she thinks of her littler box, that will be the test for the next few days. The owner says she's potty trained, we'll see. She's now sound asleep behind my neck. I don't think Jesse knows quite what to think of her yet but I think she's growing on him. They're so cute together. :D

Congrats! What a cutie! :)

I think it's rather appropriate that any cat in Jesse's household have an auto-cleaning litter box, an auto-feeder and an auto-waterer.

Congratulations on the new family member. She's just precious!

BTW, we have some extra receptacles that I think will fit that litter box. I'll send them to you. We have an extra cat carrier too, if you're interested.

We appreciate it Grant!

She's a sweetheart. Typical baby too. She sleeps for about 5 minutes, plays for about 10 and then back to sleeping.

Cute kitty.....they play like wild critters then just crash....at least they provide humor while us humans take care of their every need.

Nice kitten. Doesn't matter much what you call them. They never ever come when called (much like a teenager).
Good luck and long life FUZZBALL.

BTW IMHO don't skimp on the hard food, it is good for kitty's teeth. Do get better hard food. A science diet would be better than Whiskas or Cat Chow which has lots of ash in it and is not good for kitty's urinary track. Cat chow finally figured this out and reduced some of the ash and market it as better for them. It is still not as good as Science Diet.

Soft food should be used as a treat. Like I said hard is better for their teeth, it is also easier when it comes out of the other end and is less stinky. The other important thing for kitty is to have lots of toys. Cats need to be kept busy with things of interest to them. If you do not provide them they will find something. It may not be what you want shewed and clawed either.

My sister had one of those automatic self raking litter boxes - the noise and motion that happened every time they stepped out ended up scaring the cats enough that they wouldn't go near it.

Oh- have fun with the cat. Don't forget to get her spayed at the appropriate age.

Ditto on the cute kitty, and the look on Jesse's face- that's priceless!

Unless it's a real cheapy one, there is a time setting on there so it will wait a while before activating.

Very cute kitty! To follow up on what Scott said, they do need lots of toys, or another cat, to play with. We actually got two cats (brother and sister from the same litter) when we got ours, and we're thankful for it. They do a great job of keeping each other entertained and therefore are much less destructive of our stuff.

Be careful about leaving anything with string out where they can get it - that includes shoes with laces, shorts with drawstrings, hair ties, etc. Our cats have eaten so many shoelaces that we've gone to having a backup stock on-hand for the rare occasions when we forget to put our shoes in the closet. Oh, and make sure you lock up any leather strappy shoes you might have, Tristan - my girlfriend has now lost two pairs to kitty teeth.

Just be very careful with the string, one of our cats has had to have surgery before to remove a string that got under her tongue and wound up bunching up her digestive tract. She still keeps going after string today, almost a year later, so we have to be really careful.

All that said, you have yourselves a very cute little fuzzy ball of fun and I hope she brings you much joy!

Cute indeed!

Check with the former owner and find out what brand of kitty litter they used. Having a familiar smell/feel under the feet will help Fuzz to learn where the right spot is. After she gets it, you can change the litter as you please.

Paul works here, and also flies a Pitts. I've got a small part in his latest video. Interesting guy but he in fact has 3 cats which makes him a weirdo.

Cats are like (most) babies. they are cute when they are little and then the grow up.

Nice Cameo, Tony...

So what is your aspect ratio???

they didnt actually calculate my aspect ratio :( calculators were turned off.

I saw TJ this morning on my way into work too.

You haven't met my mom's cats. She has about 5 of them and calls them inside at night, they all come running like a heard of horses.

Yea they're a lot more attached when they're babies. However, I did get a kitten when I was 5. After my own child phase, she stuck to me like glue. Every time I'd sit down or lay down, she was right with me. I told Jesse we'll see what personalities she keeps as an adult.

That's hilarious! I didn't know you knew him. I think he's cute.

3 cats does not a weirdo make.

apparently paul has quite the fan club. according to him having more than 2 cats makes you a 'weird cat guy'

So are we going to have a name that kitty thread???
Haha yea I haven't figured out what to name her yet. Thought about "Sky" or something that means she's spoiled, because she is.

Aviation related (in the movie version)- ***** Galore

The kitty can even fly in a Cherokee similar to those in the movie.

Cute kitten. She'll get used to doing what she wants, so you'd better get used to it, too. Our cats are fine with us as long as we keep the litter box clean, the food and water bowls full and provide plenty of places for them to snooze. And one winds up in my wife's lap every time she sits down.

Good luck with the self cleaning litter box. We had one a number of years ago and it did not live up to the hype.

I will never get those six minutes of my life back...<sigh>

That's how I feel about having watched the finale of Real Housewives of NJ, but I squandered a whole hour of my life on it.:mad2: What the hell was I thinking???!!!???!!!:frown2:

I wouldn't get self cleaning litter, just good clumping litter (fragrance free - Arm n Hammer is good) and a scooper and just do that 2x a day. It also helps a LOT (a lot) to get kitty pan liners.

I have a water fountain for my cats and they love it. Fill er up - it's got a charcoal filter and they like the aerated circulating water. Stays clean, too.

Wad up a piece of tin foil and throw it - she will love you forever. Also grocery receipts are good fun when crumpled up.

Ditto RH of Orange County. Awful, awful women. I felt really bad for the one nice one who got picked on mercilessly.
