Growing up, I hated mowing the lawn so I told myself I’d hire landscapers to cut, edge, and weed wack when I owned my home. However, I still prefer to fertilize, mulch, weed, etc myself since I can “bare” to do the minor lawn stuff:). It’s kind of fulfilling having a nice lawn and flower beds. The flower beds were in decent shape. Just had to edge/weed them and put down some fresh mulch. 20 bags later and we’re only done with the front. Good thing I’ve been off since the 17th and don’t back until the 4th. The backyard/side yard needs some work due to the previous owner having dogs and basically didn’t take care of it with fertilizer, weed killer, etc. So I assume it will take a few seasons for the backyard to look as good as the front. Pics for inspiration. Next step: Preen the front and get the back done. In a few days while I give my back a rest:D

Nice landscape, seems like a neighborhood to keep things up to snuff.

I’m a little more rural, I keep things tidy but even a few dandelions don’t matter much.

I would kill for such a small commitment.
Bad choices decades ago….

Not a perfectionist but I do like a clean lawn with no dandelions, weeds, or bald spots. The backyard was covered in dandelions a month ago. Used some granular weed killer that got rid of most of them. Now going to use a spray weed killer to kill the rest.

I am looking forward to moving to AZ and getting one of those xeriscape yards with gravel and a few cacti one of these days.

I don’t know why I’m so afraid of lawns and landscaping, I’d prefer to have an HOA take care of the exterior. The hypocrite in me I’ll have rental properties and a lawn service but that doesn’t come with hiccups (sometimes they forget to go, for like a month!), complaints, warning letters from the city, etc.

I like my southwest yard landscaping. Lots of rocks, sand, cedar and because of the rain we got lately......weeds.

Lots of grass where I live and I cut plenty. Yup is very rewarding to broadcast some fert/weedkiller and sit back watch it get greener and the weeds die. Now that I am getting older. Never used to give 2 ****s about the grass years ago.
But then it grows faster!!
I cut the grass and 3 times a season a landscape co comes and does our beds, trees and mulch. But it not near what your place is!!

Beautiful home and landscape!! I don't see how you find the time?

My area is mostly rural and so is the yard ... :D

We must live in different worlds.. I mow our lawn before it goes to seed... usually... and let the dandelions and other wildflowers grow wherever they want. No fertilizer or poisons spread on our yard, we have a shallow well right behind it.

Been off since the 17th. It’s a blessing and a curse. The time off forced me to do this!

We could write a book on lawn care ... :D

I've had the town highway department lower the right of way clearing blade on my lawn from time to time, but normally I'll get it mowed before it goes up that time.

But OP's lawn looks beautiful, and in that area it should. Down there I think they may as well measure property size in sq ft, where where I'm at it's by the acre.

I am retired and my latest fifteen year old lawn mower just crapped out…so tomorrow I am going to buy my last mower…I can more than afford to pay to have some one mow my yard but it’s something I not ready to do…Pride and a little exercise keep me mowing…
