Lets make Friday 'Joke Day'!

I told people that I was retiring for medical reasons...

wait for it....

I was sick of working

I'm calling in sick today.

I have mood poisoning.

If you're sick, why not work. You already feel bad. ;)

Maybe you should call in good. "I feel too good to go to work today." Why ruin a good mood with having to work, especially on a Friday. :D

Sorry. I laughed until I cried over this one.

Back in my days as a kid, and as a parent... No need for clever tools...

A tap on the brakes brought 'em right into range..

Even as a kid I was impressed on how my dad could spank and drive while not losing one mph. These were cars from the 50s and 60s, not the tiny specks like today...

Yeah, I used to have a car from the 60s. You could turn the steering wheel a quarter turn back and forth and the car never wavered. And do not get me started on the quality of brakes....
The reality is the cheapest economy car of today out performs the old stock muscle cars of the 50-70s. (slight exaggeration for point)

And do not get me started on the quality of brakes....

Drum brakes were almost non existent when wet.... and I was comparing interior size from the 50s to now. As a kid I would sleep on the shelf above the rear seat next to the rear window when traveling long distances. Imagine someone letting their kid do that now...

Quite the dichotomy... using a whiteboard to chart out southern idiom construction.

I've lived in the south a long time now, but I still haven't figured out when to use just "y'all", which is a plural, and when to use "all y'all", which is pluraler. :dunno:

Obviously, "all y'all" is the bigger group that y'all are a part of. It's situational.

If I see my son + a couple of his friends, I might say "why don't y'all come down to the house this evening and we'll have barbecue". My son replies "Dad, we're going out with the Tucker triplets tonight". I'd say "Ok, well why don't all y'all come down and eat before you go out? And let Mrs Tucker know she's invited too."

So you’re son is plum Tuckered out?

Sounds like you almost got it...:lol:

Y'all is used when talking to 1 or more folks standing near you, for example ''Y'all come in and wash up for dinner.''

All y'all is when talking about folks in general, like ''I don't know how all y'all folks living in yankee land can stand it....''

If this new Coronavirus outbreak gets worse, John Lennon airport might be forced to cancel all flights in and out.

Imagine all the people.

I don't have the photo, but I do remember the allegedly true caption "He's lying! That's not the guy I robbed."

I heard a long time ago, "Y'all can be singular or plural, all y'all is plural, and all yall's is plural possessive."

Youns will work for all y'all.

Having lived in the south and now in Pennsylvania, I can't STAND youns/yins/younst. I try not to be a crazy person about most stuff, but that is a HUGE pet peeve.
