So what is the "Purple" board?

Give me more to go on. I don't want to register just to take a look. If it ain't aviation related, I ain't really interested.

I registered last night, but I see that some members have over 100 posts, yet from what I see there aren't 100 posts on the board. Are there restricted forums I cannot see?

I count 2 restricted forums and 6 deleted forums.

It's aviation related, plus places for alternative discussions - quite similar to this board, really, but just giving folks an alternative. It's sort of what we wanted the red board to be, if they would let it.

There is a moderator forum that was quite busy during the setup period, which is where some of those posts counts you saw probably came from. :)

Lively conversation......not just the aviation FAQs but disscusion.:goofy:

You probably wouldn't like it......

It sounds like POA only not as good.

Don't make me refer our own management council members to the 'no bashing of other aviation related sites' discussions! :p:rofl:

(No matter how true ;) )

LOL! No bashing just comparing. Actually my feeling on such things is I hope it succeeds. The more you folks you involve in an interest the healthier it is for the interest.

I have subscribed to two other aviation related forums and they never caught on. One I dumped, the other has marginally enough traffic that I keep watching.

IMO, PoA is the best and say what you will about AOPA, it is number 2 on my list.

Great! Enjoy PoA! Just don't go bashing the purpleboard ... especially if you've never even bothered to GO there!

Again, why don't you actually TRY it and THEN decide? Of course, you'll have personal experience and pesky facts getting in the way of the easiest opinions, but hell, I fully believe you can cope! :)

Is this what the purple board is about?

Where EXACTLY did I bash the purple board?

Come on, Tom. Why are you getting so defensive? So far, you haven't given me any compelling reason to go look. And why do I have to register just to have a look?

Bashing the purple board...

Is that a euphemism for something?

So I've gotta ask... Why do you need a "purple" board, when we have the blue board??? You can talk about anything you want here, even bikes, as long as you keep it civil. I don't get why you wouldn't just refer people to this board instead of starting a new one. :dunno:

We didn't need one, we wanted one. Our house, our rules. It's just that simple.

Idle curiosity on my part...what types of rules differences to you intend to implement?

Good Lord Tom, I was just kidding notice my little blue smilie thing. Then read my next post. I hope it does make it. The more ways to get folks involved in aviation the better. I think that was clearly my thoughts on the matter.

BTW I didn't see Greg bashing anything.

From the Blue Board? Nothing significant, if any. From the Red Board? Topics are open to pretty much anything. You won't see a thread deleted because it's non-aviation or it disagrees with AOPA policy (same as here). However, at the same time we won't allow obscene stuff either.

They can trash other boards :D:D

You know, it's funny, we have a rule that says no bashing the Red Board. However, there is no corresponding rule that says no bashing the Blue Board. Guess it's not needed.;)

Agreed. No bashing except for this board and its management.

So the board rules are the same.

Some people just want to play cop. The truth of the matter is--playing cop isn't all that fun.
