Monkey to Oshkosh and Beyond!

Happy b-day, 6.

How did they get that sectional on the cake? That's crazy. Also, do they just kind of infuse the blow into the cake mix or did y'all just do lines for dessert?

@tecprotb pls send me any routes u flew with the lil feller.

@OkieFlyer whatcha got planned?

Should have given the monkey to Bob Bement and let him take him up to Vale, OR and on a few adventures with him.

Happy b-day, 6.

How did they get that sectional on the cake?
apparently you can give a photo to a bakery and now they can print it on a cake with edible materials. The world is getting all weird science man. Soon we will be able to print you a 3D lady.

That's right the monkey is no longer in my possession, I flew with the monkey a total of 1031 NM, and I'm glad he is moving on.

The monkey was defiantly a hit at the party, all in all It was a pretty tame night considering what happened last time these two where together.

There is a photo somewhere of @OkieFlyer licking icing off the monkey.
Seriously... Dude flew to Texas tonight to lick the monkey.

If I understand correctly, monkey is going home w/ him.

Until photo evidence is provided, I will not admit to such charges!

Anyway, just in case the monkey was in my mouth, he got a thorough bath to put future monkey handlers minds at ease

That thing is going to look like an aging crack whore by the time he manages to circle the globe.

The Monkey said he had a great time at 6PC's b-day party, as did we.

@tecprotb was kind enough to let us crash in his awesome hangar apartment after the party, so the monkey and I took a little time to unwind. The little punk is a remote control hog, so we were forced to watch "Rules of Engagement."

The following morning, the monkey cried a little as he said goodbye to his most recent and lovely home in Ft. Worth with @tecprotb . I think I might have teared up a little myself after spending the night in such good company as Vans, Chevy, Ford, Dodge, Pontiac, and Toyota

As we crossed the mighty Red River into Oklahoma, the monkey knew there was no going back. He began to worry that there would be nothing fun to do in boring ol' Oklahoma. What hick town would he find himself stuck it?

I pleaded with him to be patient, as I had something in store for him. You see, the monkey revealed to me at Gaston's that although he appreciated all the jet setting and being catered to, he really wanted to get behind the stick himself. He wanted to log some hours for himself, but he knew he was just a tiny animal in a big world. How could he ever fulfill his dream of flight. Moments later, I showed him his next adventure.

hot da mn that's awfully close to the garbage disposal. although maybe that's how his face got all banged up.

It's probably a good thing that you make a hideous woman. Now excuse me while I go wash my eyes out with bleach and baking soda.

Poor monkey.

I really should have shot him when I had the chance. Saved him from this torture of being sucked on by PoA members.

Sure, butter him up, Vegas, hot tubs, drugs, fly him all over, get him an Eagle ride, Gaston's... and then stick him in your mouth.

It's like some kind of sick waterboarding but he doesn't know anything.

I don't know what the big deal is. Some people pay double for that kind of action.

Bear in mind that the monkey did in fact have a life, even before he was cleared for flight status and served as first officer aboard an Arrow bound for Half Moon Bay and then to Petaluma. He had looked up a few skirts (he told me all about it,) however there are some things that he won't share to this day regarding his previous handler, other than that she had hinted that a paternity test might have been in order, and that an extended jaunt across the country would be a timely venture from his perspective.

@OkieFlyer

what's the deal, monkeys got your tongue?

I promise the Monkey adventures will continue soon. I've had a really busy few weeks, plus a little bad weather here and there. I've not been a good monkey keeper, I know. bear with me. I think you gonna like the next chapter.

awesome! I'll stop nagging u for updates and I know @G-Man will be happy to hear you've got something up your sleeve.

You know that little bastard is doing stuff behind your back and you just haven't noticed it yet, right? ;)

See?

Yup time to get the monkey up to Boooooston and......Cajun Care!

She has to make a bunch of little hats for him first, one for each airport. :)

Okay, here's the deal: When I got home with the monkey, I got the bright idea that I'd teach him how to fly, so I bought him an RC airplane. Problem is, I didn't know how to fly it myself. So while you guys have been waiting in suspense, I've been learning how to fly RC so I could put the monkey in it and shoot some great video onboard the RC plane. Well, today was the day, I velcro'd the monkey into the pilot's seat, and took the plane up to get a couple practice runs in before mounting the camera.

I'll let the pics to the talking.

The Monkey survived a most spectacular crash that reduced my RC plane to toothpicks. He flew through the wind screen and landed about 15 feet away from the wreckage. The bottom pic shows the nose of the plane buried about 6-8 inches deep. You can just see the back of the engine and the tail end of the exhaust. It was freakin' brutal.

The next great monkey adventure didn't go as planned. What a freakin' waste of time that was. I suck.

Quite the contrary, okie. The monkey is now a survivor of an (rc) plane crash. It's EPIC (minus the loss of your plane, of course). If u follow it up with a Real Pilot Stories video, this will be hard to beat.

So was it fuel starvation or exhaustion?

I guess it was pretty epic. In hind sight, I wish the camera had been onboard to capture the carnage.

There was no starvation or exhaustion of any kind. That mother trucker hit the dirt in a 90° dive at full throttle making about 10,000 revolutions. I was making a turn back toward me (the point at which the control inputs are reversed) at the far end of the runway, and the sun was causing me to lose the airplanes orientation a little in the turn. I made the turn a little steep and corrected fairly abruptly IN THE WRONG DIRECTION, which got me inverted, but I thought I was right side up. I was at low altitude at this point, I gave her full throttle and pulled up! Well, if one is inverted, and one PULLS up..............

So....when is the next test flight? Great story, also sorry about your plane.

Too bad. The four stars are great RC planes.
I had the 40. Loved that thing. Killed it by accidentally having aileron servos reversed and rolled it on TO

Mine was a Great Planes Super Sportster 90/120, 72" wing span, with a Saito 125 4-stroke glow engine. My brother flies a 4 Star 40. It's a good one indeed. I may have gone a little big for my first RC, but go big or go home, right?

Now for the good news. When I bought the Super Sportster, I actually bought two of them, identical except for the color scheme. All I have to do is swap the engine, which miraculously survived the crash, and we're back to monkey business. I hope to get some video sometime later this week.
