Here are the specs for Air force one and here are the specs for Trumps 757:

Air force one: Trumps Boeing 757

Range: 6800 Nautical Miles 4100 Nautical Miles

Fuel Burn: 25.6 pounds per mile 17.1 pounds per mile

Wingspan: 195 Feet & 8 Inches 124 Feet & 10 Inches

Height: 63 Feet & 5 Inches 44 Feet & 6 Inches

Speed: 630 Mph 567 Mph

Do you think he sells his aging airplane and uses Air Force One full time or stores his plane for 4 years? An aging airplane stored for 4 years even in a hangar can't be a good thing. What do you think?

Sorry couldn't space the comparisons very clearly but you get the gist of it! :)

I think he will keep it. I'm sure his family and business use would use it plenty to justify its cost for him.

I thought trumps was like a super low time pristine plane.

And per your question, doubt it, his business empire I'm sure will use it plenty, plus there's after he's pres.

I think whomever in his family becomes the de-facto leader of his company gets the use of the Trump 757. DFTJr?

The USAF Special Missions fleet includes 757s that have the equipment already installed and ready to go. Sell it? Nah, IMHO. The former Trump plane was a very ancient 727.

Here's some info on the older Trump 727:

I got a good photo of it last night in Melbourne

Interesting that you wrote "when" rather than "if". ;)

A 757 is really plenty enough of an aircraft for POTUS as they should mostly just be traveling domestically and dealing with domestic problems. There are very few absolutely necessary international flights that POTUS needs to make. Maybe park the 747 and let him fly a 757.

I can't imagine that he would sell it. No need for the old AF1 bird, when your personal ship is just as nice, if not better.

Af1 is of great use to the potus wife and kids so they can jet set around the world on shopping trips. Then they just stop by a school in whatever country they are in and say"stay in school kids" and it becomes a nice big tax right off as it is now clearly a business trip!

Secret Service probably wouldn't let Trump fly on his own 757. Not secure (no secure comms, missile defense, etc), not flown by Armed Forces pilots, not maintained to same standard as AF1...

AF1 has sophisticated communications gear and defensive measures and inflight refueling capability, as well as many other custom features. It also has seats available to the press. It is literally a flying command post.

This. And this is why GW flew around awhile on 9/11 before finally going back to DC, after stopping at a base in the Midwest I believe. It's designed so the POTUS can stay in communications and direct whatever needs done and not be in harms way. DC was hit (Pentagon) so it would have been foolish to return there right away.

So whether Trump would keep his 757 is his business. He will be flying around on AF1, which is the call sign of ANY airplane he's on, whether the 747 or a 737, or even smaller. There's a special USAF squadron at Andrews that has a fleet of different types.

Its the callsign of any Air Force plane he's on. Navy, Marine and Army would be their namesake + 1.

I tell you what, when Trump becomes President, I'm selling my plane, my house and all my stock as fast as I can, converting it all to euros and getting the hell out. He should probably sell his plane too.

No, you said "He will be flying around on AF1, which is the call sign of ANY airplane he's on". Implying any airplane he's on is AF1.

Well, USAF flys airplanes, Marine 1 flys copters, and I'm really not sure the Army flys the POTUS around at all. Don't think they do according to the link below, nor the Navy other than the time GB flew aboard the plane when he stated 'Mission Accomplished", they used Navy One.

I'm sure the Army would be willing to make room for at least one recent POTUS in a Chinook or Blackhawk in Afghanistan or Iraq.

Nope. POTUS needs the 747 to carry his (her?) fan club and rooting section (aka press corps) around.

Kidding aside, if he were elected, Trump's company could readily lease or charter his 757 out for the duration, just as Paul Allen uses his 757 for things other than personal transportation. Nevertheless, it's fun to imagine the Barnstormers ad.

Interestingly, the last time POTUS disrupted the local economy for a fundraiser here in Portland, he arrived (from DC) in the 747 and left (for Rapid City) in the 757.

If it does not end up fully utilized by his businesses/family, I'm sure he can charter out the unused time.

I will have to find it, but there was a really recent (like in the last 2 weeks) story about how things really unfolded on AF 1 on 9/11. The communications and video gear was nowhere near as sophisticated or capable as was previously thought.... And it has been updated significantly since.

I just read that Air Force 1 operating costs are $206,337 dollars AN HOUR o_O (Source: http://www.businessinsider.com/price-to-fly-on-air-force-one-2015-2)

So lets say you flew from New York City to San Diego which is about 2112 Miles, (Roughly) and you are flying at max cruise which is 630 MPH you would get there in 3 Hours and 30 Mins which is awesome. (Approx) but would cost us taxpayers: $680,920 to fly there ONE way round trip is $1,361,840 o_O That is just ONE airplane he also flys with the C17 which brings all of the vehicles. The cost to fly are a little cheaper but not much different.

Don't they send a C-17 everywhere the Prez goes? He can ride in the same seats that soldiers ride in.

Yep! One of my favorite airplanes it's for his vehicles!

The kids would use it probably

I don't think they would, IMO I believe the kids have there own airplanes. If you are young and privileged why would you use your dad's old 757...;)

Just because they haven't, doesn't mean they can't...

Oh boy. OK.

And Yellow Cab too, guess if they wanted to, just saying...
