First concert was Quiet Riot on the Mental Health tour with Whitesnake opening up on their Slide it in tour. That was at the Fabalous Forum.

Best concert was Qweensryche on their first Operation Mind Crime tour.

I was thirteen years old when my dad sent me to "chaperone" my sister and her boyfriend(who is still my brother in law) at an Ojays concert. The opening acts were Ray Parker Jr and Raydio and Johnny "Guitar" Watson. I came home so high from the second hand marijuana smoke that my Mother was ****ed.

About 20 years ago, when my son was a newly-licensed driver, he and a friend wanted to go to an Alanis Morrisette concert at The Gorge Amphitheater, in George, Washington (you read that right), about 250 miles away from here. Well, the friend did something that got him grounded by his parents just a couple of days before the trip, so I agreed to make the trip in his place.

We were front and center, just a couple of rows from the stage. During the first set I looked around and said (well, yelled, actually) to my son, "I have seven words for you: Civilization as we know it is doomed." :eek:

(I should mention, though, that The Gorge is a spectacular venue, on the rim of the canyon overlooking the Columbia River.)
 
Reba McEntire..early 90's. To make it fair it happened following a Rodeo so we stayed for it.

I just remembered seeing The Kingston Trio (one of their iterations). I think I missed the Mandrell Sisters. Blue Oyster Cult - ran across them three or four years ago.
 
Saw The Band (before they got big) at Tony Mart's or Bayshores in Somers Point NJ guessing '64 or '65. Maybe the Soul Survivors in Margate NJ, '65 maybe. Turtles, Paul Revere, Supremes, Tommy James all at the Steel Pier in Atlantic City, maybe summer of "64 or '65. One of these was my first. Concert that is. :D

It was a BIG Bowling Alley.

Eric Clapton, 1992 Tacoma dome. I was awe struck by his talent. He came out, sat on a steel bar stool and rocked out tough! Amazing skills! One of the best perfomances I have ever been to. I was 19 at the time.
 
Call me paranoid, but this is one of those questions I won't answer publicly online because it's a fairly common "forgot password" security question. And maybe because my first concert was embarrassing.

I met Harry a few times at Tom's house back in the 1970's. He was a natural storyteller. He'd start spinning a yarn that seemed like just ordinary conversation until it was about halfway through and started getting weird. By the time he was done I'd be laughing my ass off. Of course, I was just a gullible teenager, and I suppose that makes for fertile ground for any storyteller.

Tom told me once when Abigail was a baby that one of things that made him saddest about Harry's death was that Abigail would never get to hear Harry spinning a special yarn just for her.

Anyone ever see the original Black Oak Arkansas back in the 70s? Love that band but have never seen them. They do tour now some.

I saw BOA somewhere around 80-81. I don't know how "original" they were then.
 
The worst concert?..........

Neil Young......without question! He was an hour late coming on to stage, looked out over the audience and said " I just can't see me doing this any more." Never played a note and walked off.

There were no refunds.
 
Van Halen at the Chaparral Center in Midland, TX, 1979, on the "II" tour. I was 16 years old. DLR at one point came out waving a huge Texas flag.
