YouTuber Cuts A RV-4 in Half

This guy basically destroyed a salvaged RV-4. The fuselage looks to be in great condition. Maybe a new set of wings and some wing box work it might have been airworthy.

I normally love this channel, but this pi$$ed me off!
 
What did I just watch????? You don't need to cut a plane open to understand how a plane works.

Not to this RV-4 builder :( Gear folded, engine mount broken, most likely tweaked the firewall and forward fuse, and the center section and wing carry through, one of the more critical parts on a -4, looked trashed.

Lol! "So sketchy, just a couple of screws holding this thing up." Yeah moron, it's just a canopy. You seriously needed to cut the rod holding it to realize that? Learned a lot about engineering from this vid.
 
What a stupid show. Do people watch that crap? That is the most pointless, idiotic show I think I may have ever seen. I guess that's what happens when you make a thing like YouTube where anybody can make a TV show. Idiots making idiotic programming for other idiots to watch.

I really don't care that they tore up a dead Vans RV-4 some more. Some pilot already took the life out of it. The only people that should be saddened by this video is the guy who built that plane and the parents of both the people who make this show and the people that subscribe to this show. When I was growing up, they called it the "boob tube" and TV was supposed to turn your mind to mush. The PC and the internet have magnified that effect by 100x.

I learned that most Americans know absolutely nothing about engineering and actually don't care to know about engineering.
 
Well that was depressing to watch... I'd seen that RV listed on eBay awhile back as a ground looped rebuild project. Needed new engine mount/gear legs, lower firewall and forward fuselage repair and some skin work on the wings. It really didn't look all that bad by this RV-8 builders eye. But, apparently no takers other than these clowns who wanted to shred it for no real purpose. While they were banging and cutting away on it I couldn't help but think of the builder who spent years and thousands of hours of work into building it...
 
Kinda like the guy who trashed a perfectly good RV because his lawyer said if he sold it, he could be sued later if it crashed.

It reminds me of what would happen if you asked a monkey to disassemble an iPhone.

Not really educational, more like two idiots and their kid break crap that's beyond their comprehension level.

I suspect it is a show intended for kids. Kids love to see stuff smashed and wrecked. Add in a skateboard and suggest that it might not be legal and a little dangerous and you have a kid's attention. At the end when he says he's going to auction off the cut off stars and bars, there is a shot that starts at 9:07 that shows the target audience.

It just meant that he is a moron and needed to say something to fill up air time, so he said the first thing he could think of that came from his empty mind on a subject that he knows nothing about.

Agreed. The only one that should be emotional about this is the person/s who built it. It was written off scrap metal along time ago.

And then he points to his ghetto rims hotroded truck and says it has 450hp (or whatever), yeah and it also weighs waaaay more than the RV, heck my motorcycle has under 200hp and it whould blow his truck out of the water, power to weight ratio is completely lost on that dude.
 
Eh..I wouldn't worry about the builder. He sold it, after that it doesn't matter what happens. Yeah I can't stand that channel at all. The kid ruins it for me
 
Should start a YouTube channel called "watch me punch this douche in the face" and this clown can be the first video. Would love to see him crying after he lost those stupid sunglasses.

I don't know why you would want to punch this guy. If it's just about doing and saying stupid things, just punch every third or so person you pass on the street. If it's about punching people with stupid TV show that really deserves to be punched, start with Donald Trump.

Most people have the courtesy of being a narrow minded clown to a select group of close friends/relatives. People like plane smash man and his kid feel the need to spew their hatred for the unknown to the masses. I would venture to bet that a great deal of children watch that and are now petrified of airplanes since he made it quite obvious during his video that they are flimsy under powered under built piles of junk.
Instead of relaying the basic fact that they are built that way to be light and strong enough for flight, he just ridicules it and mocks it for it.

Why do you have to bring politics into this? and I purposely dont watch television shows just because they are filled with crap like this guy we are talking about. OOOOOHHH airplanes are scary!!!!!!!

I think you are reading way too much into this. I don't think this guy has a "hatred of the unknown", he just doesn't give a damn about the unknown and doesn't want to know. He enjoys mindless destruction and the people that watch this show do too. All of his idiot comments as well as his genius skateboard sidekick, are just regurgitations of the biases he has learned from popular culture and the people around him. He's actually a product of a news media that loves to make a buck off of spectacular death and GA's inability to positively promote itself.

Once upon a time airplanes were magical and mysterious, now they are common place and boring. It's fact of our times. What we regularly do is neither magical, or mysterious. Every time a "private plane" crashes in a smoking mess in the news, the general public assumes some rich 1%er just bought the farm because they were too stupid to understand they were playing with fire in a well known death trap.

If you really hate this guy this much, go to his YouTube channel and comment on this video.
