I am a dad!
All this necro-posting! Good lord! I got home from work tonight to something like 2.3million unread posts, and I think all but three of the threads were from 2005. It's just too much for my fragile little mind.:yikes:

:needpics:

Sorry couldn't resist....:D:D:D

Both. What does that mean?

Mostly clockwise, but occasionally CCW.

Clockwise...........Dave G:blueplane:

Stare at her waist and below and then move your eyes to her neck and head. Watch her reverse directions.

I haven't quite mastered what I have to do to make the direction change, but - you should know - the "direction" doesn't change.

Technically the drawing is not rotating clockwise or counter-clockwise. It is a 2d display hence there is no real movement into a 3rd axis.

That's weird. I've seen her move both directions, but usually she's moving clockwise.

How do I make her move counter again?

she moves counterclockwise to me, no matter where i look. but Scott raises a very accurate point

Like I said I never quite figured out how to reliably control my perception but scanning the figure top to bottom or staring at the "non moving" parts does it. Think "left" ...."right."

I just noticed when the motion "freezes" it reverses. Maybe try stopping it in your mind.

It's a little chilly in that animation.

The animation appears to me to always be spinning CW; until I look at her upside down, then it looks to me like she spins CW for half a turn, then CCW for half a turn, rinse and repeat.

I just wish she would hold still.

Great necro-post, Nick! What were your key words for the search, "Silhouette porn?":D

Ha! I figured out how to change her direction. The key is the raised foot. Watch the toe. As it rotates you can force the direction by mentally placing that raised foot either in fron or behind the planted foot.

With this technique I can make her change direction on command doing a perfect half turn left, half turn right, half left, half right ect.

I just wish she would hold still.
Okay, that adds a new dimension to the term "necro post". :D

I see the illusion of her turning clockwise, but if I force myself to see it going the other way, it then becomes very difficult to get it to reverse direction again. :goofy:
