I am currently flying skydivers around part-time but I also today started jumping again after 7 years off. Did a re-currency jump which I was scared to do and a confidence solo jump afterwards. You really need to do it! Its fun!

Flying jumpers is fun to. One of the best flying jobs I have had so far. Although being a CFI was more rewarding and I have only done two types of flying jobs. :)

I AM NOT A CRAZY PERSON btw! :D I do have a fear of falling and a fear of heights but flying and jumping keeps them under wraps.

Why would anyone want to jump out a perfectly good airplane? Hope you had fun.

I was an airborne ranger some 30+ years ago. Never had any desire to jump since then. I didn't have any bad experiences, just never had the desire. Nothing like 30 people all coming out the back of a C-130 all at the same time though, at night.

I also have a fear of falling, but mostly I have a fear of hitting the ground at a high rate of speed.

btw.... you ARE a crazy person..!!!:rofl::rofl:

Been there, done that. All my jumps have been static line though, I have yet to do a free fall.

Come on out to Ohio. I will even fly you up and push you out myself, all while maintaining full control of the airplane.

I am very close to getting up the nerve to do this.
I think I could probably do it but the climb up to altitude would give me a heart attack.

Just the waiting and thinking about it. If I could wake up and be at 13k feet, that might work.

Where I fly there's not much crossover. Either you're a pilot or a lawn dart. I like being a pilot.

I do not remember a thing from my first time. Put on the protective gear, and next thing I know it was over. So immediately made a deal for a second time, during which I said to myself "remember this" at different points in the experience. I still have mental images of that second experience, thirty years later.

Oh, you meant jumping out of planes. Same deal.

I really want to do this and there are two jump operation nearby. I just haven't gotten around to it. Maybe this fall after it cools down a bit.

BAHAHAHA, nice!

Not for me, I pull way up high and fly the chute all the way down, and sometimes up if the thermals are kicking. I don't much care about lawn darting, diving is pretty much same but cheaper and I get to be weightless a lot longer. Flying the chute however I found to be a lot of fun.

As a kid I'd longed to skydive. The day I turned 18 I snuck off to the airport. Spent most of the day in class. By the time we were ready to jump, the wx had turned. Came back the next day and did the static line jump ... Loved flying the chute down. But, overall, meh.

Tried again 20 years later. Tandem jump. Did not enjoy the free fall ... Endless noise and wind without any sense of weightlessness. Again, loved it once the chute was open. But, not enough to do it again.

Much preferred my time with a powered paraglider.

I plan on doing my first jump (tandem) in two weeks!

A guy I used to work with years ago was a skydiver. When I saw the planes they jumped out of I understood why they felt that there was no such thing as a perfectly good airplane. :D

Me? I fly, not jump.

If you fly the jumpers and then you jump, who lands the airplane?

I jumped out of an airplane once during college - it was a ton of fun. The jump plane was a Queen Air, which I thought was cool.

I'd love to do it again, but I think I'm getting more risk averse as I age, and can't get myself to actually do it.

I have around 50 hours of freefall time. But have to agree that flying parachutes is more fun then flying your body. Which is why I fly paragliders and speedgliders these days and skip the whole airplane business.

My sister in law was just up there a few weeks ago for her first jump. She loved it, wants me to take her up for a ride sometime.
