For me I've noticed that x-plane real-time-weather almost seems to contain better details than products like foreflight. I'm not saying I'd use xplane to plan a flight. But it often seems as accurate. They say they get their info from METARs. For example, although I can work at foreflight and get cloud heights, xplane seems to not only have that but indicates cloud types and the mix, e.g., scattered cumulus above other layers. Does anyone out there use xplane real weather to help with the overall picture?

XPlane is awesome, but no, I wouldn't use their information for any kind of additional situational awareness. And definitely not as a source of weather data for my flight planning.
Though I will say that their wx data (and flight modeling) are superior to MSFS IMHO.
