For me I've noticed that x-plane real-time-weather almost seems to contain better details than products like foreflight. I'm not saying I'd use xplane to plan a flight. But it often seems as accurate. They say they get their info from METARs. For example, although I can work at foreflight and get cloud heights, xplane seems to not only have that but indicates cloud types and the mix, e.g., scattered cumulus above other layers. Does anyone out there use xplane real weather to help with the overall picture?
