Cleared for Takeoff
I'm looking for a C182P this year. I have time. Cash. My limit is the mid-5 figures. I know that will be a significant challenge, maybe impossible, for the plane I want. For now, I'm set on the C182P and not looking at anything else. I've thought about this a good deal. I expect to keep this plane till I quite flying in 10-15 years. There are some nice planes out there where the owner spend money on avionics but also spend money on looks. I'm looking for the one with the avionics and old paint.
Appearance - not an issue at all inside or out
Damage history - not an issue so long as it was professionaly repaired
Avionics - 430W or 530W, A/P with altitude hold, IFR certified
Instruments - engine analyzer desired, not essential
Engine time - prefer low or high but flexible
Other goodies like visers, gap seals - don't care about
I'm watching TAP, Controller and others and have put out the word to local pilots. I understand fully my budget may not support my taste, but I'm going to try for a while. Maybe something will show up. If it doesn't, I'll look for something else next fall.
