Trust me, I don't ...want... a C172. And at the asking prices out there, I won't be getting one either

I miss our super mouse. 1200# useful, 128kt, stupid simple to operate. Used it to haul clients and aircraft parts all over the place, and it was great at it. I wish I could unsell it, we did some great mx upgrades to make it liveable.

Due to lack of supply, I am out in the weeds looking at things like early C182s and 180hp converted Skylarks which are inexplicably half of the price of a C172. And those are weird things to sell if the market snaps down so I probably won't buy these things except at "dispose when finished" pricing. So round and round the analysis-paralysis game goes until skyhawks are 500k and we get a boat instead

I feel the same way about getting a 182, though my partners are foaming at the mouth for one.
