I went in this morning for the written, passed with 93%. I'll take that! First x-country tomorrow, the next on Sunday. Then it's just a little polishing up on some things, oral test prep and it'll be all done! Truly something that I never thought I would have. God is good!

Finally a break in the ice and got the first xcountry done today! Headed to Addison on Sunday, hopefully. Some cleanup next week and then a check ride on the 13th. I’m ready for this to be over with!

Remember, you're going to screw at least one thing up, so don't worry about it. If you recognize that you aren't dead on course or altitude in your maneuvers, then make an attempt to fix it. And lastly, if you think you screwed up but the DPE didn't say anything, you passed that section. Quit worrying about it and move on. Good luck.

This wasn't clear. I must ask......

You have God as an instructor? Or it's God flying the plane, and not you?

Wow. Better connections than most have, I'd say.

The “IFR” cross country that is required. The school that I’m using does two.

I believe I'd rather have a skilled pilot flying, but good luck with divine intervention.

Not to sound like an old timer D-Bag, but we had to do things like NDB intersection holds. There was very little DME in the airplanes back then.

What I meant was, I was giving advice to someone whom I thought was going up for their first check ride, NOT the ride I haven't even taken yet.

Long Xcountry, with three different approaches, completed today. All requirements have been met. Now just some cleanup items this coming week and a check ride on Saturday. WHEW!

    Congrats!

Did you find that the questions were similar to what is currently available to practice with? Such as ASA's Prepware ? I've been doing the ASA Prepware practice test daily and just wondering if it's the most up to date resource.

I used the Cessna (King) Instrument training material and studied the Shepard Air Test Prep for about 2 weeks. The sample test questions and test study material was on the money for the test I took. There may have a been a couple that I didn't recognize but really no issues with those. I scored 93% on the written.
