My 182 only has nav lights on the wing tips.

I’d like to install nav/strobes.

Can’t decide what to get.

AeroLED Pulsar NSP
Whelen Orion 650
Aveo Ultra Galactica

Any first-hand experience with these or other options?

Thanks!

If your tips are cracked & aged now is the time to buy new ones that will actually fit new standard sized lights - most existing182 wingtips will not mount new lights without a bunch of screwing around.

I have the Whelen’s. Brighter with much less current draw.

Find one that's footprint matches what you have. My own tip lights are Whelen and have flush bases so nothing sticks through the wingtip but wires and the attach screws. Installation is really simple. The hardest part for you will be fishing a strobe power wire to the tips. Don't forget a synch wire if synching is important to you.

Not sure about your 182, but I know for the skywagon there is a different wingtip and tail tip you can get and when used in combination with nav/strobes allows you to eliminate the soup can sized rotating beacons.

My favs are the Pulsar NSPs. I bought the non-TSO'd version for my RV-8.
