William Rankin, the man who rode the thunder.

I remember reading the book as a little kid. Thanks.

His book is titled, coincidentally enough, "The Man Who Rode the Thunder". Read it a couple of years ago, definitely recommended. His description of what it was like to parachute through a thunderstorm is hair-raising. It took quite some time for him to make it down to earth, I imagine the whole time he was thinking he was going to die.

Next time I find myself bitching about a bad day I'm going to think of this guy.

Read it last year. Great book by a great aviator. Hard to find but got in on intralibrary loan.

I heard about him from listening to Rod Machado tapes.
