Tried google, can’t seem to find a straight answer. Closest I can find is it’s acceptable on a case by case basis. Reason for taking is for hair loss treatment and not for blood pressure, for what it’s worth. Does anyone on here take Minoxidil, specifically orally, and hold a medical without issues?

Did you try leftseat or one of those other websites where it shows approved, disapproved medication lists?

im pretty sure they wont give you a first class medical without hair. Hair loss is a primary factor for the FAA to determine that you arent fit to fly. The head might get sun and fry the brain or something. . .

Yeah, that's why I went the sport pilot route. It ended up being self-defeating, however, since the LSA I have access to is a low-wing with a canopy, thus increasing sun exposure to the dome.

I think Sporty's has some good pilot toupees but I haven't sprung for a good one yet.

I doubt it’s an issue. I’d send a nearby Ame an email and ask. Hopefully an Ame here will chime in. Good question by the way, ignore the jokesters.

Should not be an issue if it's documented as the reason for the Rx (as in with a doc's letter).

Now I understand the “Baked Potato” moniker.....
