The other runway thread got me to thinking about the longest or widest runway you have ever landed on.

Lincoln, NE 18 - 36 is 13,000' x 200'. The sight picture is amazing. As you are on final you have to be careful not to flare 2 miles out! When you do flare it is like you are sinking into a concrete abiss. I could literally land on the width of the runway.

Think about it, almost 2.5 miles long.

It was an emergency landing runway for the shuttle. :D

I guess KLNK might be my widest too.

KPUB, KCOS, KLAR, KCYS, KVNY, KSAF and KSUX are all hanging in there in 2nd place at 150'.

I'm waiting for the first person to chime in with a sea plane on the Pacific.

A whole bunch that are 150 (KMCC, KMYV, KMRY, KSBA, KSNA, KRNO) and probably others.

KPBG has been reduced to 200 feet from what it used to be as a SAC base. KBGR, at 200 feet, is another nice long/wide one.

I was in KCSM (Clinton-Sherman, OK) last week. It's been reduced to 13,503x300. I think that's probably my biggest yet.

13,000 by 300 feet. Salina Kansas.

When I was at Salina it was a little shorter 'cause they were working on it. It was plenty wide...

Have also bounced off of DEN a couple times but I think those are "only" 200.

Minneapolis Downtown seemed rather wide after 6Y9...

Whatever MCO is.... Taxiing from the hold short line to the centerline took 11 minutes..:D:wink2::goofy:

KMWH 13503 x 200 they always offer a "Permission to land long" if I'm going to the FBO on the other end of the field. I've literally gotten stopped on the numbers.

Midland. 9501 x 150. Took off a little diagonal once for a big X-wind

I guess it is 150 ft. at KBMI,KBOI, KPDT, KSLE, Salt Lake INternationa.\

KOSC, 11,800 x 200. Don't know if there are any paved runways wider than 200 ft (in the US anyway).

400 feet wide at MacDill AFB. Pretty weird sight picture, and real hard not to flare high. There was actually a note about that in the FLIP (DoD's A/FD).

Biggest rwys for me:
10801 x 150 - KMCI
7339 x 150 - KIXD
7301 x 150 - KICT
7000 x 150 - KMHK

Looks like 150' is it.

13,503 x 200, Moses Lake, WA (KMWH)

My last trip out that way was from KVUO to KMWH, beautiful flight followed the river to The Dalles, then D-> to KMWH. Don't get much bigger than MWH, I started my flair somewhere around Yakima. :D

11,321 x 150 (KPSM)

As a student, I really like the long and wide runways. :)

MFD is 150' wide, as are a few others I have landed at, but MFD was the first wide one and still close to home.

Looks like 150'. Worcester, Ma and Portsmouth, NH. I have to put Brunswick Me on the list. That would be 200'.
Landing on a runway that's 5 times longer than you're used to is quite a trip; especially when you have "company traffic" on your 6.

There are 2 airports near me - about 7NM apart, with the same N/S rwy layout. One is 4000 x 75 the other is 7000 x 150. I was heading back one afternoon with a pretty healthy wind correction angle, and heading to the north, head on into both airport rwy layouts. My nose was pointed at the big rwy, but I was wanting to go to the other rwy. That optical illusion caused by the larger rwy being almost exactly twice the size of the other one made me think "Uh, oh. What just happened - I shouldn't be THIS close already!"
