Why I am asking about Henning

First boyfriend was Henning
I wanted to know if anyone knew Henning prior to him passing? I dated Henning for years when we were technically kids. As you can imagine I I have 100s of stories of time with him. I guess he was like 15 years old and I was 2 years younger. I knew him for a couple years prior to that and we dated for 4-5 years! Throughout his whole life he would reach out to me or my family/friends.

Several months ago I found out he was gone and I must admit He crosses my mind. I wish he would have called me. I don’t know the details of what happened or what triggered chain of events. I do know he seemed fixated on certain things prior. There are three reasons I joined tonight. I was looking at posts from “gone west” and someone listed his outrageous conquests that he claimed happen. But as I read them, I was like that actually happened that happened, the next one happened, etc, etc…. I knew him during that period of time that he said it happened. He was crazy but Brilliant! Even as a kid, he was gifted. I used to think that his father was a Psychiatrist at Washington u school of medicine/Barnes/Jewish hospital. To me, Henning was more interesting than probably his patients. Lol So the first reason I reached out. First, I wanted to say I could verify many of those claims.Crazy!! Two, I tried to find his sister, Iris but had zero luck. Didn’t know if anyone knew about her. And lastly I really want to know what happened. Funny how everything that was written about him in the time before his death, he was exactly the same at 13yrs old! Old Soul and too much info in his head.

I met Henning once. It would've been 2018 or 2019, I forget exactly (I'm sure it's in here). It was when he was living in Florida, shortly before he made the move up to the PNW where he lived on Elmore.

He was a character, that's for sure.

I remember dinner with him, Mari & others when he stopped by Denver. Big group, maybe 8 or 10?
 
I always found his posts enjoyable reading. He was a bit of a cad. Miss his postings

That was the night he kissed my hand, which I thought was really strange...

Clark was also there at the dinner. I think he later flew with Henning, then hired him (to work in his company, not to fly). :oops: But I think things came from together later. Wonder whatever happened to Clark.

Clark sold the Frankenkota, got his commercial and moved to Alaska to fly for some company, don't remember which one. Neither Nate nor I have heard from him since.
 
My wife and I met Henning several times. He flew with my wife when she was a new pilot and gave her a lot of good advice. He was definitely a strange bird, but he was a good person and I do believe he was genius level. I also believe he did all those things he said he did. I think that people as smart as him get awfully frustrated living in a world with the rest of us.

Possibly. I knew a guy at Georgia Tech who was off scale smart. His thing was danger. He'd do almost anything for a thrill. He was smart enough/lucky enough/skilled enough (pick 1, 2 or 3 of those) that he never got hurt, but the same couldn't be said for some of his accomplices. I think he was into danger because normal life just wasn't challenging for him.

See murphey's post #13. We don't know. I also miss Clark. He took me flying in the Frankenkota a number of times. I gave him FRs and IFR checks, but we also went a number of other places. He would laugh at me because I would try to flare his plane high, since I was used to taller ones.

I bantered with him on here a lot and met him at Gaston's where he brought suspicious brownies for dessert. Seemed like a really great guy.
