Why aren't Vortex Generators more common?

That car probably needed the down force... Wasn't that version of the Road Runner done in production in limited numbers just so they could race it? And didn't they have a bit of problem with that type of car potentially flipping end for end if they spun around 180 on the track? I'm remembering something about pop-up spoilers in case the cars ended up going the wrong way, but I may be remembering incorrectly.
Roof flaps came out in the early 90s. Winston Cup TV announcers made a point of mentioning them every time they popped open. They seemed to be fascinated by them.

Our 78 Blazer had something similar. In addition to keeping the back window cleaner, it seemed to reduce the amount of exhaust that was sucked up into the back past the seals.

Pretty rare option on the Excursions. Not sure how effective it is at keeping the hatch glass clean.

Hilarious. The modern digital-age version of a cigarette package flapping against the bicycle spokes, for adults.

Would they have one that would make My A-65-powered homebuilt sound like a P-51?
SoundRacer X takes a microSD card that you can download additional sounds to.

I could make my Lexus RX450h sound like the Ferrari 250 GTO that I've lusted for but have no way of affording.

It's annoying when car makers play engine sounds through the entertainment system to mask the fact that the new engines are quieter and sound horrible.
And they don't give you the option to disable it.
