Looks like it will only shift about about 10 degrees. Not much of a flip.

we had that switch and today we had Snow :( (reminder, my county touches MEXICO - land of sunshine and warmth)

Hmmm... I have a plane detail scheduled for tomorrow. Wonder how thats going to work with this crazy wind...

Windstorms move across the country much the same as cloud, rain and snowstorms, generally west to east. Most weather the US gets originates in the Pacific.

80 degrees with a chance of t-storms today. 40kt winds gusting to 60 or above Sat night into Sunday... followed by a possible dusting of snow. As I like to call it, whack-a-doodle weather!

That's cute. Than an average day in CO lately.

uhg. Hopefully it calms down a bit for Sunday. Got a plane scheduled that afternoon.

Don't see the problem, at least in CMH, that's right down the runway.

Oh maybe the difference between the sustained wind and gust on final? Maybe the severe crosswind effect on the ground on a 172? Major turbulence? Might be my imagination.

My 172 could make a 500 nm trip in 3'18" if I took off now! Let's hope for calmer conditions Sunday so we can get our fix in.

We flew into CLE the past couple days in an Airbus and got tossed around like we were in a C150. Not kidding. Weather is the dictator.

Must if turned it on in Illinois too. I just scrapped my flight to MN for the weekend

My last flight out of KOSU we had a 60 knot tailwind all the way to Maine. Yum.
What were you flying and at what altitude? That's kinda what I was looking at, KTZR to KBAF (Mass.) I could do without a fuel stop in my 172G.

Had planned on taking a group of planes to Mingo county wv for a FAA seminar this morning already gusting into the 30's taf says up to 45 knot gusts.

No says I

@iflyvfr - 172 at 9,500, long periods of 150 knots over ground. We took breaks to warm up and refuel rather than push it - was zero F in the cockpit.

That sounds like an interesting story! I can relate, down around zero the cabin heater becomes pretty ineffective IME.

Gusts to 50 mph forecast around here for tomorrow. WAY-Y-Y outside my comfort level...
