I’m looking to add a few vinyl graphics to my plane and am trying to determine what grade of pvc (or other) is appropriate so that I don’t damage the paint when the graphics are removed. Any idea what type / brand of film I should use?

thx?

following, I'm in the same situation

Are the surfaces in question painted metal, poly-fiber fabric, or something else?

Depends more on the condition of the paint whether the paint or other exterior covering will be damaged when removed. There are also other issues that can arise such as paint fade, etc while the graphic is installed. But most aircraft graphic producers use a 3M vinyl for their graphics. Perhaps give one a call like Aero Graphics for more input. But safe to say if you go cheap you'll have issues later when you go to remove unless it is designed as a temporary graphic.
