External GPS and handheld radio are good ones, so are:
Stratus (more than just a GPS)
PLB
Second Headset
Back up power supply
Garmin Virb or Go Pro
Pulse oximeter if you fly high

And of course, an airplane.

[Bird Man]

Headlamp with the red LED for night flight!

[DesertNomad]

Jellybean (that's my plane)

iPad with ForeFlight
Handheld radio
American Express card... it's this little plastic card that I put in a machine to get the special liquid that Jellybean likes.

[mkosmo]

3400 mAh external battery to charge electronics in the plane (very handy!)

Why settle so low? The 20AH limepower packs are pretty cheap now (and small) and I didn't get near depleting it even for OSH and back.

[Seanaldinho]

I prefer gifts that people don't typically buy for themselves, so most people who own a plane kinda just spot clean it themselves so I'll buy them a wash and detail. Intro flights to a unique sorta thing (gliders, acro, seaplane, hot air balloon, etc) or a helicopter tour of the local area.

[MikeS]

If you care about them at all you'll put a Dynon D2 in all of their stockings.

[pigpenracing]

Gift card for gas.

[Gucci Pilot]

Extra headsets for taking family/friends flying
Nice LED flashlight with red & white light

[timwinters]

I'll buy them a wash and detail.

Who are these people who will let other people (besides a trusted mechanic) touch their airplane?

[Phoenix]

Go for the experiences. Doing stuff is better then owning stuff.

instead of 'things', why don't you go for a 'feel good' type of present, oh I dunno, like contributing to my GoFundMe account........it's the right thing to do and contributing will make you feel good!

[retpd2001]

Headlamp with the red LED for night flight!

Try green, red doesn't work with NVG's :wink2:

[Ravioli]

Kitchen pass for the year.

Costs Zero and saves relationships.

The joy of saying "Honey I'm going flying" without the BS. Priceless!

I really like the aero. lesson idea. That said I love my stratus 2s and foreflight on the ipad. I play with it on and off the plane.

What does it do?

[MotoFlier]

What does it do?

Gives you traffic, weather, GPS, AHRS. It's basically a portable glass cockpit.

For those masochists, perhaps a present from "PlanePerfect" would be a good idea!

[ejensen]

In cockpit weather and airport info.

[Sundancer]

The "Off" position on my transponder and radios.

[Vance Breese]

I feel there is value in a small handheld aviation transceiver that will work with a head set.
I have had panel mounted radio challenges twice (Icom) and the handheld made it into a very small challenge.
A nice one can be had for $200.00.

[denverpilot]

Fuel. By far the best gadget I've ever used to go flying with.
