I finally made it off the waitlist and moved into a nice clean T-Hangar last night. What kinds of things do you recommend I keep in the hangar that you've found useful?

I figured the obvious would be:

Workbench
Lights
Fan
Basic set of tools
Cleaning supplies
Chair/Couch (Figured I'd hit up CL for something cheap)

Congrats.....

Ps.... I would suggest putting a plane in there too...;);):D

trash can
fire extinquisher

spare parts for the aircraft, oil

Preheater (if applicable)

step ladder or ladder (depending on aircraft)

multiple fans for the hot days

Lots of great ideas, I think I'll add them all to the list.

Wonder if I can find a Stripper Prop? And a stripper to go with it.

Has has alot of connections in that dept..:D

Jeff, what are you flying? Do you live near SFQ or just keeping the plane there?

I say put a folding cot in it. Handy place to bring girls after the bar closes.

Items in my hangar other than the plane itself: ladder, locker for various items, air compressor, two heaters, various plane cleaning products, oil, rolling cart, folding chair, oxygen tank, extension cords, battery tender, old junky folding bike, old junky electric scooter.

Many hangars I visit have a center line marked to center the aircraft, plus a set of chocks to stop the aircraft in a certain place.

Global Express
Global 6000
Falcon 900
Falcon 2000
P180

2 Cirrus SR22
1 Commander
Piper Meridian
Cessna 210
Remos
and a Mooney.

But its a community hangar.

- One forty-five caliber automatic
- Two boxes of ammunition
- Four days' concentrated emergency rations
- One drug issue containing antibiotics, morphine,
vitamin pills, pep pills, sleeping pills, tranquilizer pills
- One miniature combination Russian phrase book and Bible
- One hundred dollars in rubles
- One hundred dollars in gold
- Nine packs of chewing gum
- One issue of prophylactics
- Three lipsticks
- Three pair of nylon stockings.

And a broom.... don't forget the broom.

Best advice yet.. There are two planes in my T hangar and lines on the ground and pre placed chocks make parking them a no brainer and zero hangar rash...:):):)

I'm in. When do we attack?

I have the following in my hangar:

- Old and crusty 182
- A good set of tools
- Cleaning supplies
- Shop vac
- ladder
- metal shelves
- desk and chair
- small air compressor
- broom
- trash can
- extra oil
- 55 gal drum and pump for unleaded gas.

A buddy of mine in LA has the normal assortment of Tools, tables, spares, etc.

When it came time to recarpet his house, he saved the big remnants and carpeted the hangar with it. Now, getting on the floor to clean the belly or other such Floor related work, is really nice.

He also added the two Lazy Boys he upgraded from the house. That and a reefer full of beer, makes Plane spotting at the airport a Real Sport. :)

You'd be surprised how many frends this can generate. Add an inflatable Pool and you'd have to charge admission.

One shiny airplane, workbench, cabinet (full of cleaners, nuts, bolts, rags, etc), fridge, chairs, fan, some added lights, and photos... lots of photos! Make it your own. I enjoy sitting in the hangar with the fan on, having a cold beer after a flight.

Shoot, a feller could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff.

Three lines for me. The two outside lines are the most important. They made my life much easier.

To paint mine, I rented the striper at a rental store. It is a very light weight four-wheeled cart that holds a special aerosol spray can. The rental store sold me two cans of yellow paint.

Later I learned that I could have borrowed the same kind of striper cart from the FBO, and bought the paint at Lowes.
