What was going on with Bonanzas in KS/MO today?

[RussR]

Kansas City Center: “Be advised there is a flight of 27 Bonanzas taking off from Forbes right now” as we flew in around 9:30 this morning.

Also, around 2:00 we were at St Joseph, MO, and the tower was advising about a flight of 6 Bonanzas inbound.

So what was going on with Bonanzas in the middle of the country today? Big (Thursday?) fly-in?

I dunno, but when I was at the airport this morning I saw a few of them depart - not in a group, just singles, but more than I usually see in that time span. And we're only probably an hour or so away from KTOP by Bo, maybe less.
