I suppose it could go spin zone, but it doesn't have to. It's not a political statement.

Getting your foot caught between two rocks waist deep off the beach as the tide is coming in and knowing shortly you are going to force yourself to take a deep watery breath because all of the people you see on the beach are out of an ear shot.

...and you have a nasty paper cut on your left index finger that the salt water is irritating.

That's odd, I didn't realize these things were visible before the poll was complete. Oh well.

Aw nuts and here I went saying inflation...

Rising interest rates (think national debt).

People overreacting to fear, both real and imagined.

Fear may be a powerful motivator, but it makes people stupid.

^^^^This.

Not a single one of the things in the list is relevant or, in some cases, real. If you live your life gripped in imaginary fear, you really ain't living.

OSPF for our shop.

OSPF works well, though I have seen it choke a router on a really large network when the router wasn't sized right. I suppose some of that was a design issue, but the organization had deep pockets and was more into over sizing the hardware than fixing the root cause.

I dunno, looks like at least ten people so far unanimously disagree with you, by the poll.

Avgas is up 50% in just a few years. It's gone from "wow to ouch".

Very relevant to me and to my ability to fly.

Well, yeah, and auto gas more at least as much. The last time I was in the store to get something to bbq, every single cut of beef except for tri tip was priced at more than I was willing to pay for it. So I got pork instead.

Inflation is a result of professional criminals stealing with government sanction or even as a function of it. Hard to stop that.

Really? Yet every one of your polling items is a political hot button issue that the media is freaking out about 24/7?

Anything can be a political hot button if you want it to be. Although, I'm not sure how you bring politics in to race car driving. I'm sure there's a way, I'm just not seeing it off hand.

And the media is freaking out (justifiably) about the economy and the deficit. Inflation itself is not something anyone seems to want to touch. And I would only call it political if one could rationally blame one party over the other for the issue. Key word is rationally.

Getting fat. Or maybe not getting skinny. Nothing else matters muricans are offing themselves through fattitude

Fear all the time is bad. Fear at the right time focuses you in the right way.

The dumb animals at the back of the pack who are oblivious to the predators get eaten first.

Driving to work each day with some nut texting in the next car.

The police of course. If the LA riots (early 90's) and history in general teaches anything, it's that when a group feels unfairly treated they will occasionally rise up and burn things down. The conditions seem right for such things all over SoCal and probably other cities across the US unfortunately.

I am guessing you don't understand what "inflation" is. Unless you are blaming beef prices on ISIS or the Ferguson Police Department.

inflation is a sustained increase in the general price level of goods and services in an economy over a period of time.[1] When the general price level rises, each unit of currency buys fewer goods and services. Consequently, inflation reflects a reduction in the purchasing power per unit of money.

Electric, beef, milk, eggs, gasoline, coffee and car prices are all at record levels since 2009. That's called inflation, dude.

I don't know how you garner that from my quoted comment. I was making an aside remark on the price of beef, not claiming that inflation is indicated by the price of a single commodity, if that is what you are implying.
