What Lens to Rent??

Nice! I think they came out very good. Practice slowing down your shutter speed so you don't stop the props, but other than that, it's just practice and more practice!

I really, really like the orange float plane picture! Im guessing that's the beaver..

These are great photos. I understand why you feel like they are soulless, but you are photographing something very challenging... plus, while the pilot is a big part of the story, the planes takes all the glory. (...apparently I'm poet!). Of course, also part of the story are the the observers on the ground and the world around the plane and pilot. It's not easy to capture what I think you were hoping to capture, but you have to start somewhere and you did a really great job with these.

Wonderful photos and I really like what you tried to do with the flag one.

Good pictures. I carry a Canon T5i these days. I shifted to an 18-135mm for my carry lens. The 18-55mm that came with it just doesn't have enough reach and I was always shifting to the 55-250mm lens and back. At something like OSH even 250mm might not be enough. However, for most purposes the 18-135mm is great. I'm not sure why I keep the 18-55mm in the backpack, I never use it anymore. Some day I'll drop the cash on a longer lens, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. A good external flash is probably the next purchase. And, boy are those pricey.

6pc, that water bomber shot is nice. exposure/lighting turned out great

Nice set. You did a good job on Panchito, polished planes are difficult to capture well since reflections confuse the camera with respect to setting exposure.
