What is the legal difference between a GPS S-# only approach and a RNAV (GPS) L-NAV approach? They both are GPS approaches with roughly the same non-precision MDA mins. I know RNAV refers back to both the old RNAV and the newer GPS units.

So is the difference old style GPS units that cannot provide 0.3 RNP or something else?
