What a stalled front looks like above the Clouds

The original "I don't know it all" of aviation.
Photos taken about 15 miles NNW of the Leona VOR (LOA) at about 3:45pm Central time travelling northbound at 6000 feet. This boundary stretched east-west all the way to the horizon.

((need to go find the Surface Prog chart that was valid at that time))

Note how the boundary made the clouds look like a cliff edge. And then 10-15 miles further north, the layer was completely gone.

You said "made it look like a ridge". Without depth perception, I cannot tell whether it is actually a ridge or just a break in clouds making it look like that as a shadow. Which one was it? Curious.
