I was there immediately after it happened. Apparently the student hit a taxi way sign which caused him to veer off into the grass. I think it's the sign laying on top of the plane. Don't know what happened, winds were near calm out of the north.

It's the CVR. The NTSB pulled it to send off to DC for their investigation.
