Well, after a year of flying in the Bush I am finally doing it - next month I am moving to Kodiak, AK. I took a new job flying out there, and I'm very excited to stop flying in Bethel.

Good luck. Enjoy your time in AK.

After all that time in AK, flying around NE and TX flatlands must look so.... pedestrian

All situations have unique scenarios that can make them challenging.....but worrying about sliding off the side of an icy runway in a 30 knot crosswind is quite the combo.

David, I'm confused. You said you have been a bush pilot in Alaska, but now you are moving to Alaska with the GF. I thought you lived in Alaska all the while.

Good luck man! The flying out there looks beautiful!

Have fun in Kodiak.!!!

Send me a halibut while your there.

What company in Kodiak? I thought about taking a summer job in Alaska and sent a resume to a couple companies to the island. Seems like no one wants a high time pilot with lots of bush experience.

Also real business came up and looks like I won't be able to get away for the summer.

And you will miss Bethell......NOT..!!!

I technically live in Seattle, 2 weeks out of the month. My current schedule is 2 on 2 off

I've only been to Kodiak once and that was around 1977 or 78. But, as I recall, the Coasties I was working with loved it. Best of luck and have fun.

Good fishing, good deer hunting, outstanding bear hunting, what is not to like in Kodiak.

You going to be on floats anytime up there?
