Curious to know if there are any organizations out there that offer opportunities specifically for sport pilots?

As far as I know some organizations require a minimum of a private pilot certificate along with some minimum flight time and PIC time.

I also know that I have to follow this reg as well:

§ 61.315 What are the privileges and limits of my sport pilot certificate?

(c) You may not act as pilot in command of an aircraft:

(10) In a passenger-carrying airlift sponsored by a charitable organization.

Just wondering what would some examples be for that instance? Such as volunteering with the Red Cross and take a passenger out of a disaster zone or area affected by a flood or hurricane? Not that I would do actually do that.

Right now I still rent the Sling LSA from the same flight school I got my ticket in.

EAA Young Eagles allows Sport Pilots.

The Angel Flight program is regional and each has different requirements. For example in Colorado, no need for IFR rating but back east, some of the AF Regions require it. Few, if any, allow Sport Pilot.

I believe that reg precludes you from doing something like Angel Flight, but Pilots and Paws would be a good one.

For a more complete list, the Air Care Alliance is the umbrella organization for public benefit flying organizations like Angel Flight and Pilots and Paws. I would suggest you look at their directory and focus on the Animal Transport and Disaster Relief categories: https://aircarealliance.org/getting-assistance/directory-of-groups/

I'll second @murphey on the Young Eagles: at least in my area, it's tough to get enough pilots to commit to fly for these rallies.
