One reason I’d think the reasoning is ok, I usually climb faster than Vx, but slower than Vy. Maybe I’ve been there all the time? Most often I’m at a flatlander airport, no real obstacle coming up. Yes, different airplane than 172. I may climb slower getting ready for a turn, faster at times when I want to see better over the nose.
