Ventucky Random Pic Thread

There in AF in 78. There on business in '03. Unfreaking believable. The best way to describe it is to think of a bus back in the day. You know, packed to gills to where they had a hard time closing the door. Now all those people have their own car. You think traffic in LA is bad...

LOL Yup I remember seeing those buses packed like you describe. I was always impressed with the Koreans, hard workers. I made a comment to someone when I was there that if N. Korea doesn't start another war S. Korea will become another Japan, and they have. Amazing.

They pretty much ARE the new Japan. Most large oil tankers and container ships have been constructed at the Hyundai shipyard in S. Korea. They (and Kia) are starting to take over the automotive market from Honda in SE Asia.

I toured the Hyundai shipyard in Ulsan, back in the mid 1990s on a business trip. The scale of construction there blew me away!

New personal criterion for what's considered a big engine: when there's a ladder (!) welded to the outside of the crankcase.

Thought I would revive this one... BTW - are boobies (reference female anatomy) allowed?

Still trying to digest the overall theme of the thread.

There is no overall theme, these are just random photographs... I hope you enjoy them.

It might take having an understanding of @Ventucky Red. I don't know if that is possible or not.

They put me in a test tube and studied me, the was no conclusion. At least they tried... right? :D:)

Definitely enjoyed the pictures some more than others, thanks

Love it. The old Ventura County Courthouse ... Spahn Ranch (used to live near there) ... St. Francis Dam ... Galloping Gertie ... Checkpoint Charlie ... and Mr. Feinberg with Jennie Horvitz' younger sons.

:)
