All,

I have a Bose X noise canceling headset that I would like to use standalone with my iPhone in noisy environments (riding the subway, mowing the lawn, flying as a commercial passenger). Of course the jacks for the phone and headset are of different size. Is there an adapter I can buy? I can't seem to find one. It would be good to get as much use as I can out the headset!

Thanks

There are two plugs, one for the mic and the other for the audio. The audio plug is the standard stereo 1/4 inch plug. Shame Radio Shack went under but check online or a local Best Buy might have what you need - the 1/4 stereo to mini stereo.

just ignore the mic plug.

The other problem is impedance and power. The iPhone output may need amplification or the Bose might work. Someone else will chime in on that aspect.

Thank you. I'll give it a try and see what happens. Amplification might pose a challenge though.
