So I am looking at some used Gamin avionics. I found something I really like at a good price from Europe. However it obviously doesn't have an FAA 8130. Does the EU have an 8130 equivilent that an avionics shop would accept in the US?

They do: EASA Form 1. But not all countries are not full signatories to the EASA or EU so it depends on the country of origin. It also may depend on if that country has a bilateral agreement with the FAA. Your shop would know more.

Plus a couple other things to keep in mind:
1) if the equipment is used, it may need additional paperwork or a signed dual-release on the Form 1.
2) sometimes avionic equipment is set up for the global regional it is sold to and may need a factory reset to work in your location.
3) if you're performing the import/export paperwork some types of equipment have special import requirements.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
Well to be more specific it is from the Netherlands, and it is a Garmin 750.
