Unfortunate plane crash: Wagner boss Prigozhin reported killed in crash

I don’t know either, but...

To me, it seems akin to one mob boss rubbing out another mob boss by blowing up his car. I can’t work up a lot of sympathy for other mobsters who were also in the car, including the mobster driver.

The death this week of Putin henchman Yevgeny Prigozhin highlights the evolution of Russia into a mafia state, writes historian Michael Kimmage.

Russia has long been like that; they're just more blatant about it now. Remember that Stalin started as a common street criminal and worked his way up through the Russian mob.

In the old days, the disgraced officer would return to his quarters to find that somebody had thoughtfully loaded his sidearm and placed it on the bed. He would know what was expected of him. Prigozhin didn't have that level of character.

I imagine that WSJ article doesn't help Gershkovich.
