For the TruTrak AP the ICA indicates 100hr or Annual checks to include operational checks , input commands and servo response, inspection of servo brackets, freedom of movement, 24 month min and max airspeed checks, torqueing of bolts and so on. But I don't see any of this in the log books where there was an inspection geared toward the autopilot. Based on this, is the aircraft not airworthy?

The last A&P pointed out that the airframe log says "C/W applicable ICA's." So I guess that covers it as a catch-all.

Maybe. Do you know what checklist the mechanic used for your last annual? Did you request any specific checks for the TruTrak system during the annual? As to the "catch-all" note, it will depend on what annual checklist the mechanic used on whether those specific checks were performed or not.

And how much would this inspection cost in addition to an annual? Seems pretty time intensive depending on the airframe.

edit:
Wouldn’t that be better suited to an avionics shop?

No clue. But keep in mind the FAA establishes only the minimum required for an annual inspection with any additional checks falling under the owners purview or at times under the mechanic performing the inspection.

Usually depends on the complexity of the checks or any special equipment requirements. However, I've found those basic type checks as listed above to be well within the capability of a mechanic who is willing to perform them.
