So, a few of us organized a county wide road RoW clean up this weekend. Had a pretty good turnout this morning at the city park where groups singed up and were given trash bags.
I got home after the kick-off, ate an early lunch, and then Chris an I headed out onto our road to clean up trash.
We didn't make it 100 yards down the road from the driveway when I ran across a 1/2 gallon bottle of muratic acid that was about 1/2 full. Laying next to it was a black trash bag. I opened it up and inside was a jug of Coleman fuel, a can of draino and two 1 liter sprite bottles filled with liquid.
Now I don't run in these circles (even though I may have back in the '70's and early '80's), and I wasn't intimately familiar with meth ingredients, but it sure looked like a shake and bake gone bad and tossed out the window to me.
So we called the sheriff, told them what we had, and they're out within 15 minutes cleaning it up.
Welcome to redneck white trash southern Missouri. (Of course, I'm being overly harsh, meth is rather ubiquitous these days).
Always an interesting day.
