This is why we train for engine outs..../Jump plane crash 12-May-2016

Glad they all got out safe including the pilot. Great job getting it in that field and dissipating energy before it flipped. Could have been a lot worse.

Good leadership afterwards. I assume he was the "jumpmaster" or whatever they are called

There's no "jumpmaster' on a civilian jump load. The designation no longer exists in the USPA's rating categories. Since he was wearing a wingsuit, I would say he was an experienced jumper tho and recognized to take control of the situation.

From what I read, I believe he is also a pilot in the Chile Air Force. I fly around in a bubble canopy quite a bit. Flipping over and not being able to get out is one of my fears.

C208? Looks more like a Caravan to me....... But hey, they are all Cessnas right?

Am I the only one that thinks the dude with the camera is a complete dick? instead of helping others exit the plane, he's busy trying to get a good shot/angle of the wreckage.

Disclaimer: I only watch the video with volume off...and didn't ready any articles.

Watch it again with the volume on, I thought he was ok under the circumstances.

Wingsuit dude seemed fine to me, just trying to help.

No you are not alone. He is going for the ultimate selfie effect for his own glorification.

The second video in the linked article is really good. The helicopter pilot explains exactly what happened without sensationalizing it. Nice piece of reporting
