Well, it wasn't that far, but it was uphill both ways. My kids thought I was full of it until they went to college in that town and found out that, yes, it was uphill both ways between the high school and my house. You had to go over a hill, so it was uphill (and downhill) each way.

Oh, and I didn't do it barefoot, either.
