Shoot the Monkey!
oops, wrong thread. LOL
I assume you didn't make it to the pancake breakfast, me either.
GMU next weekend?
oh yeah, I'm in..........
We need to wrap this thing up, or at least complete the first phase if it is to continue. 1) eman1200 must receive the monkey and prepare the documentary. and 2) anything goes.
I have a plane plus a backup plane booked. if I could order a cheeseburger now for next saturday, I would.
Documentary by eman? Do you know what you are possibly going to get from him? LOL
I'm in. If @EppyGA cant make it, I will get the monkey from him.
Might hafta divert the monkey to Minnesota or something!
Looks like the timing won't work for me on Saturday. I'll meet up with Dave and get the monkey to him.
Aaww man, bummer, I was hoping for a grand meet up! I'm still shooting for one of your pancake breakfast gala events.
Tomorrow is probably my best day to meet. Let me know.
I will down at LZU most all day. I'll bring the monkey with me. If nothing else I'll give it to John and the two of you can hook up. We have a group that goes to dinner Thursday nights if that fits in your schedule?
Um, isn't it time to file a freight claim on this package?
I am flying with some students tomorrow, I can probably drop in to LZU. Where will you be?
Only slightly less frightening than a documentary by @SixPapaCharlie ...
I still think this monkey needs to go to Oshkosh. 2 weeks away. More POA photo ops...
I'll be all over. We have to take down the glider in the morning. No idea how long it might take. At some point I'll have lunch at the flying machine. I'll send you my phone number.
I've got several chapter members going that would give the monkey a great experience.
I'm going to Oshkosh! How funny would it be if I walked into the restaurant on Saturday, showed @eman1200 the monkey, turned around and walked out.
With so many PoA members at OSH, there's no telling which way he would go next.
Sounds like he's oshbound!
Still up for lunch on Saturday?
I don't think it'll be hot enough! I'm still up for something, lunch, bon voyage to the monkey, shenanigans, etc...... GMU, EHO (the flying pig?).......
Wait...u mean monkey play chapter 1 is about to come to a close?? I don't beleive it!!
it's 'almost' happened before, so let's wait and see........I'd like to get these tee shirts made up and sent out, that's for sure.
Maybe we should do breakfast! I wonder if Amazon has sheepskin Grumman Yankee covers...
I have the monkey back! Weather is looking good Saturday. Just tell me when and where so we can end this chapter and then on to Oshkosh!
Today's leg: short hop from LZU to PDK.
runway cafe, saturday 11:30am sound good?
That works for me.
Im getting excited! wait..did that sound bad?? nah...
That's going to get spendy if he gets passed around at OSH! LOL! Better stipulate that walking him around doesn't count... Heh.
the freebies end with chapter 1. if the monkey continues his adventures and people take interest in a tee shirt, I can place the order but I can't afford to buy the planet a Great Monkey Race tee shirt. although really everyone on the planet should have one. a shirt, not a monkey. sht, maybe everybody should have a monkey too.

Finally, it's all on you Eman....
Well......... not really. Eman met the monkey today, but he had him return to Atlanta with me to take to Oshkosh. Some lucky member can continue on with his journey from there.
Okay, but does he have official ownership now, so that at least we can say phase 1 of the saga has been completed?
And, how did the meeting go? Did they get along?
Ladies and Gentlemen of The Great Monkey Race...............Chapter 1 has officially come to an end with a great meet up at The Runway Cafe at KGMU. I've always wanted to whip my monkey out in public and today I had the opportunity to do just that. Of course, my monkey is, well, pretty darn small so no one really noticed. I flew my friend Leann out to the Cafe and got to meet Dave T and Mr. and Mrs. EppyGA, not only fellow PoAers but also honorary participants in The Great Monkey Race. A fun time was had by all, and it was an appropriate close to Chapter 1 of TGMR. I have some tee shirts to get out, which will take a couple of weeks, and I also have 2 ideas for more Monkey Madness. I will issue the challenges in the near future. For now, Dave Theisen is bringing the monkey to OSHKOSH, which seemed to be what the majority of people in this thread wanted to see. I hope everyone views the (first portion of) the event a success, as the mission was to get pilots out, meeting other pilots, and I think we did that. We also did lots of hookers and blow, but I think that would have happened with or without the monkey. Thanks to all involved or anyone who was pulling for a successful Monkey Race!!! CHEERS!!!!!!!
What a weird and awesome thing!
So looks like 238 days...
Do we have a total of miles, pilot count, map, etc???
12 Pilots + me. Paperwork went with the monkey, but I'll post all that info soon.
