Damage to the learning center, as well. IIRC that is part of the visitors center, which was basically at the base of one of the support towers (see one of my pictures in an earlier post). Not good at all.
This is impressive video. It belongs in the same category as Gallopin' Gertie - the Tacoma Narrows bridge video as "Must Watch"
I figured that a video would turn up, since they were expecting a collapse at some time in the not too distant future. I would have been surprised if they didn't have the site closely monitored.
Hope they're not monetizing the drone video, the collapse is tragic enough without the FAA stepping in to levy fines...
I just saw that video. It is impressive and shows what happened. I'm sure that engineering students will be seeing that along with Galloping Gertie in their classes in the future.
No FAA there.
It was meant as a joke playing off of the drone video thread here, but I believe FAA is in fact there. Unless their FSDO office in San Juan is just a front for a secret vacation getaway for civil servants.
Ahh crap. Sorry forgot it’s a colony. LOL
You may be correct about the latter theory though. Haha.
Made famous by Jim Henson and early Muppets. First on the Ed Sullivan show, I think. Then he took it to his Muppet Show.
The story you are about to see is a fib, but it's short. The names are made up but the problems are real.
Actually it is a US possession, so there is FAA.
but it’s also a government agency that owns Aricebo, and if they’re operating the drone they can avoid FAA rules.
There is definitely FAA here in Puerto Rico. Thats actually why I moved to PR. ATC though, not Flight standards.
