The blue knob

Before anyone takes this too seriously, I would like to point out that this is a gross oversimplification. As an example, before you start the engine have you ever noticed that the MP gauge is close to 30"?
It's true for a running engine. A stopped engine is another matter entirely. I would have assumed that to be common sense?
 
Unless you've got the blue knob firewalled, the mixture isn't going to change the RPM usefully for leaning.

And before you could enrichen back "off" of the drop, the governor would have corrected for it. That aforementioned lean to the drop has me scratching my head for sure... unless somebody is confusing a tach for an egt.

well.....the mixture will have an affect on the rpm when the rpms are less than 2,000....and the prop is on the low speed stops. :D
