Technology use quiz

Omnivore, but a reluctant one.

I have a lot of the gadgets they asked about, but don't necessarily use them all.

SHMEM error - out of shared memory
SHMEMMAX error - max memory exceeded
GIVASHT error - technology tolerance exceeded or expired
disk_io_cache error - no longer able to access pointer to requested data block
recent_io_persistent error - recent io_fetch out of sequence, io_block retrieved "good_old_days" not compatible with "get_more_technology" requested

seriously ... my results

Lackluster Veterans make up 8% of the American public.

Basic Description
Lackluster Veterans have the necessary gadgets for the information age, such as a broadband connection, cell phone, and a digital camera. But the wealth of information and communication technology possessed by Lackluster Veterans does not translate into particularly high levels of satisfaction about gadgets’ impacts on their lives. Although they seem to value internet connectivity, that is less true for cell phones.

Defining Characteristics
Lackluster Veterans do not link ICTs to better personal productivity, their ability to work with others in their community, or keeping up with family and friends. All in all, Lackluster Veterans seem content with surfing the Web or emailing others, but they do not show great inclination to stretch their technology habits to self-expression or mobile media. Very few like the extra-availability that comes with having “always on” broadband access or cell phones.

Who They Are
This group has a median age of 40 and has a lot of online experience, as the typical Lackluster Veteran has been online for about 10 years. Most of them are men – 65% – and they are well educated and comfortably financially. Some 41% are parents of a child under the age of 18.

I'm surrounded by idiots.

"Connected but Hassled" - Yup. That's about right. I used to get more done before I ever bought a computer. And cell phones suck.

Connector... It didn't specify but I suspect a TNC, emphasis on the N.

I had to give greater consideration to this one...

Based on your answers to the questionnaire, you most closely resemble survey respondents within the Omnivores typology group. This does not mean that you necessarily fit every group characteristic.

I knew that would happen, but I figured I'd give it a shot. Amazingly, there were only like 1 or 2 questions I didn't answer techy on.

Omnivore. Though, as I'm sure others can agree, I have to say that my work email can be a real bummer sometimes.

But that is mostly due to my frustration of the absolutely crappy system we use (Lotus Notes) and the sheer volume of stupid messages ("would the guy who left his aardvark in the parking lot please come collect it") usually sent to the wrong group anyway (some idiot is always trying to email his cohorts in a Washington office -"hey, lunch anyone?" - and emailing the entire nation instead.)

I guess if I wasn't an omnivore the above wouldn't bother me ;)

Indifferents. I guess that puts me one step up from the dog.

Defining characteristics:"Indifferents are frequent TV watchers, and likely to spend a lot of time – more than other groups – watching television." Ha! I don't even have a tv.

Omnivore. Back to coding up a custom PBX.
