Its my birthday today so obviously I took the day off. And I want to go flying of course. Since my plane is still in the shop (10 effing weeks and counting for a freaking paint job, and no I'm not annoyed about it or anything!), I decided to do something I've always wanted to do...fly a Cub.
Scheduled a lesson with the local tail wheel joint at AeroCountry (T31) to fly their Legend Cub.
I gotta say, what a hoot! Not exactly built for a 6'1" guy, but I managed. My CFI was a curmudgeon and (jokingly, I think) 'berated' me for the entire flight. Flew about 1.3 and mostly did landing work on a grass strip north of T31. First time we threw the tail up for takeoff I thought we were gonna hit the prop. He had warned me about that, but still! I wasn't really intending to get my tail wheel endorsement, but I just might go ahead and do it. It was a gas!
