T-45 Down, Mississippi - no fatalities

"The cause of the ejection was not released as the military and local authorities conduct an initial investigation. "

Interesting writing. The cause of the ejection was that they pulled the handle. What would be more important to know was the cause of the crash.

It crashed because everyone had ejected.

It crashed because everyone had ejected.
They - I hope - ejected because the smart naval aviators they are thought it would have crashed anyway. So maybe……..

“The cause of the likely crash that would have occurred had it not crashed because everyone left the airplane do to the before mentioned impending crash ….. has not been determined”

There have been not one but two S-3 ejections due to “spins” not being recovered by 10k’.

1. The S-3 CAN NOT spin. Vert stab too big…. But for some dumb reason we have anti spin controls, which are pro spin controls the other direction.

B. Both times it was observed by an opportunity aircraft, and it recovered as soon as they ejected. And subsequently crashed…

Not sure of the relevance, this was a T-45 crash. I think the only airworthy S-3 remaining I think belongs to NASA.

I think the Navy should just buy Cessnas until the pilots get 500 hours before moving up
