Superbowl 2013

Big question is will Ray Lewis stab anyone in the after game celebrating. :dunno:

Turn it on mid third quarter. If it's a good game, watch for a while. If not, turn it off and go back to whatever else.

Puppy Bowl.

(more likely, I will be taping drywall and not watching TV at all)

its a good excuse to drink tequila in the middle of the afternoon . . .

I hear the public works department in SFO is emptying the sewers in preparation for the halftime flush. . .

That and eat food you normal would not eat.... at least not very much of.

I didn't know who was playing until I saw this post...I'm a baseball guy myself. For anyone who cares, my Nationals are looking mighty potent for 2013. Pitchers and catchers report in 9 days! Get excited!

Oh, and Michigan football, of course, because you can't be here and not be into it. Those games are such a blast to go to. I need to get myself to a Michigan hockey game too...

I stop watching pro football when my team is either eliminated from making the playoffs or eliminated from the playoffs. Same goes for all the other sports. Except college football. Stop watching that after 2 losses.

Don't watch any pro game of any kind anymore. Can't stand the overpaid jerks who "play" the game.

The non stop BS starts at 1100 today. It's now worse than election coverage and that is saying something.

Cheers

With the exception of the halftime show (during which I'll probably be in the kitchen, not nose-to-the-TV trying to see if she's lip-synching), I'm expecting a very entertaining evening -- both the game and the commercials, even though I don't have a dog in the fight. But at the end of the day, I'll be happier if the U of Michigan Harbaugh (as opposed to the one who only went to Ann Arbor's Pioneer High) walks away with the trophy. I can't stand the fact that so many Baltimorons have embraced the Modell Ravens after Modell did to Cleveland the same thing the Irsays did to Baltimore. I'm simply not of the Lyndon Johnson "I'll do unto others like they done unto me" school of thought.

I don't watch much football, but it is the 49ers and they do have some good commercials.

Puppy Bowl!!!

I was very surprised last year they didn't repeat the Puppy Summer Olympics ( as in 2008) but I guess they decided it didn't go over well. Commercials aren't nearly as good, no possible chance of wardrobe malfunctions and don't worry about missing the critical play.

Valid points. I am going to join that Flyin to Willows at 1:00 and may miss part of it, anyways (I did record it on the DVR, though).

Commercials. I've got not great interest in either the 49ers or the demon spawn of Art Modell.

I thought the game was last weekend and I just missed it :dunno:

Wow, some real hate worked up for the NFL boys. I'll buck the trend. I like pro football and will be watching the game and the commercials with some significant interest. I'm rooting for the 49ers since I'm originally from CA and the Ravens kind of backed into the playoffs.

I guess liking pro football makes me a bad person. Oh well, it's not my only failing.

I don't know that i would exactly call beating both the broncos and the patriots as backing in to the superbowl

Technically the superbowl is part of the playoffs.

You're beginning to understand. Now, go back and read what I wrote s-l-o-w-l-y. Eventually, you'll see the words "into the playoffs". Or, maybe you won't.

Buh-bye

Go 9ers!

I love football at any level! But really like college ball.

They are done so it's the Superbowl!

Go 9ers!

I'm not sure what convinced you to act like such a jerk but hopefully it a temporary condition. Perhaps not, in which case you would be following in the footsteps of many antisocial people who have passed this way before. Oh well good luck with your life. If this thread is a example of how you interact with people you must be great fun at parties.

I suppose my jerkiness is brought out by those who make some snarky comment, and get the snark part wrong from the get go. If you're going to correct another person's post or story, it's usually best to get it right, or failing that follow up with an apology and correction of your point.

Social propriety isn't high on my list, that true. As for luck in life, you have no idea how well I've done with family, kids, financial success, friends, business, etc. I wish I could give credit for some of it to the rest of society, or people along the way. Sadly, the ugly truth is I graduated from HS at 16 with little money, and a broken family - I got a judge to sign me into the US Army on my 17th birthday, and from there it's been all uphill. Wouldn't change it for the world, and when I come across people who act like they are smarter than me by making a mistake when correcting me, I guess I'm just defensive enough to show them the error of their ways.

and buh-bye again. :cheerswine:

I'm watching Broken Arrow until it gets closer to game time. I started the watching the pregame and in 30 minutes I saw a guy with ALS, something about the Colorado and Newtown shootings, and something else about Hurricane Catrina and New Orleans. This crap is depressing; if I wanted to see depressing stuff I'd turn on CNN. What the hell are these people thinking?

We may be watching one of the last Super Bowls to be played. As the number of lawsuits over concussions and brain damage increase the pressure to end the game of football will increase.

I'm rooting for some boobies at halftime that don't make me want to throw up like Janet Jackson's did.

Maybe Ke$ha will perform

:wonderwoman:

I agree 100%. In 10 years you will barely recognize the game.
