Sunlight Readable I Pad - when?

Just get an Aera. The Garmin portables just work. They are rugged, reliable, and easy to read. I own and use many iPads, including aviation apps, but I don't use them in the airplane.

Look around and you can buy a used 796 and GDL39 for about $1k. Garmin makes 'pak' subscriptions that include data for a panel navigator and Aera for not much more than just for the navigator. Still need the Flightstream if you want to transfer flight plans though.

I bought a levil astrolink from ifly booth last sunnfun. The club plane had a stratus 1s but I wanted to have the ahrs backup from the levil. Problem is I'm the only one that used it and I usually forget to swap out the ads-b units and now it just sits in its box in a drawer..
